The R32 Skyline GT-R is a Japanese performance icon and many would say the argument of what is the greatest road car ever to come from Japan starts with the R32 GT-R … many would also argue the conversation ends with the R32 GT-R.

The GT-R dominated beyond belief, winning every JTC Group A race for four seasons running, 29 straight, numerous Australian Touring Car championships, and many prestigious endurance races around the world. Ultimately, the car was banned or relegated to its own series. The Aussie’s dubbed it, Godzilla.

Under the hood, Nissan’s venerable RB26DETT provides the soundtrack. The twin-turbocharged inline 6 is rated at 280 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. Note the word ‘rated’ as Japanese automakers had a gentleman’s agreement to limit power output. With the advent of the 25-year importation rule the earliest R32s are now legal to import to America. We have done just that … see how and come along for the ride as we tune Godzilla for life on American soil.
